    Pour-over method

    The pour-over method of making coffee is vastly superior to all these expensive coffee makers. The Kuerig with its lavish use of disposable pods is the most wasteful system imaginable. You can get a unit for the Kuerig that lets you add coffee and avoid buying individual pods, but the Melitta method appeals the most. No you can even get recyclable filters that would fit the cone, but you have to make sure that sediment doesn't go through the filter, or else the coffee will be bitter. I suppose you could use a No. 2 or No. 4 filter in the No. 6 cone to make less coffee as you require. You could even put the cone over a large mug and just make a single big cup, and it all works.
